At the end of July The Revolutionary Existence for Human Development (RED) achieved a significant milestone with the official opening of its third public drinking water tap in Amandoluwa Katunayake .This initiative, implemented under the “Strengthen Feminist Movement (SFM) 2025–2026” project with support from Women Fund Asia, directly addresses the long-standing drinking water crisis affecting Free Trade Zone (FTZ) workers and residents in the area . An another RED Organization’s CSR Response to Cyclone Dithwa

In response to Cyclone Dithwa’s devastation in Sri Lanka on November 28, 2025, RED Organization launched a two-phased humanitarian initiative for affected communities in the Katunayake zone. The cyclone and flooding severely impacted the FTZ region, particularly displacing vulnerable migrant workers in boarding houses who lost access to food, water, and services. Despite challenging conditions, RED successfully distributed emergency relief packages containing dry rations, sanitary products, clothing, and ready-to-eat meals to address the immediate survival needs of this isolated population. The event was attended by the Katana Divisional Secretary, Seeduwa Medical Officer of Health, Women and Children’s Unit of Awariwatte Police, Gampaha District NGO Representative, Grama Niladhari, Early Childhood Development Officers, Social Service Officers and Hostel Owners as decision-makers. On the 08th Sunday of June 2025, the Revolutionary Existence for Human Development (RED) distributed 100 packets of dry rations among their NEXT victim members at the Hotel Dilshan Auditorium. The recipients were primarily female members, including widows and single mothers, many of whom are the sole breadwinners for their families. Revolutionary Existence for Human Development (RED) successfully organized two impactful workshops under the ESW project for fresh free zone employees in Sri Lanka. Held at the Dilshan Hotel in Kovinna, Awariwatta, both workshops were conducted in Sinhala to ensure accessibility, with 35 participants each, predominantly female. The first workshop, held on April 6, 2025, featured sessions on Labor Laws and Human Rights by Asela Dharmapriya Dissanayake and Conflict Management by Nilmini Sureka, a Sub-Inspector Police Officer.
