Revolutionary Existence for Human Development (RED) successfully organized two impactful workshops under the ESW project for fresh free zone employees in Sri Lanka. Held at the Dilshan Hotel in Kovinna, Awariwatta, both workshops were conducted in Sinhala to ensure accessibility, with 35 participants each, predominantly female. The first workshop, held on April 6, 2025, featured sessions on Labor Laws and Human Rights by Asela Dharmapriya Dissanayake and Conflict Management by Nilmini Sureka, a Sub-Inspector Police Officer. Topics included fundamental labor laws, fair wages, conflict resolution strategies, and the role of leadership in fostering inclusivity. Participants left empowered with legal knowledge and practical skills for workplace harmony. The second workshop, held on April 5, 2025, led by Gender Studies Expert Indika Dayarathne, focused on gender awareness, covering gender equality, gender-based violence, societal roles, and challenges faced by marginalized groups. This session encouraged dialogue on inclusivity and systemic barriers, prompting reflection on societal norms. Overall, RED’s workshops significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of their rights, conflict resolution, and gender equality, contributing to a more informed and equitable work environment. These initiatives highlight RED’s commitment to education, empowerment, and fostering a culture of awareness and inclusivity in Sri Lanka’s free zones.
