The research report launch and stakeholder meeting was held on 21st February 2024 at Hotel Rani Beach Auditorium Negembo
This was a follow-up action of the stakeholder meeting and research report launching for the governmental top officials on 08th December 2023 at Foundation Institute Colombo
The research report titled“Strategies for Fostering Community Well-being of Free Trade Zones Employees in Sri Lanka”delves into the critical exploration of strategies and actionable recommendations aimed at amplifying the social well-being of employees within Sri Lanka’s Free Trade Zones which is a topic that should be discussed in depth even after over 40 years of the establishment of the Sri Lankan Free Trade Zones.
There were around 40 participants actively participated in the said meeting including representatives of the local government officials Labour Department, Boarding house owners, area Health officials, Police (Child and women affairs ) civil society organizations, trade unions, and worker representatives.
The findings and the recommendations in this report were discussed in depth and the participants agreed to do their best collectively and formed a task force
It was a very fruitful meeting and in the end, the task force agreed to meet soon for further discussions over these topics
